SKILLS AND TALENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAM FOR YOU Children are the future of tomorrow. It is very important to inculcate the qualities and right skills at the early ages to help them succeed in their lives. Only if we improve quality of education and nurture their inherent skills, they will be able to contribute towards social development while leading a successful life. Today's education system focuses predominantly on academic development, which is the reason for increasing violence and anarchy in the society. What's its remedy? 4 YOU FOUNDATION has been implementing a project in selected schools in Kerala for the past few years. The program is known as STEP (Skill & Talent Enrichment Program). Skill and Talent Enrichment Program is a project implemented for adolescent children. Since the character formation takes place in a person during adolescence, the right intervention can make the desired impact in them. This project is being implemented in schools in three important phases. The first stage is a residential training camp. During the camp, our trainers observe the children and measure the psychological level of each child using appropriate psychological tools and methodologies. Along with that, they will also be given soft skill training. In the second stage, individual counselling will be given to the children. This helps in understanding them more and identify and solve individual problems early. The third step is to provide awareness to the children’s teachers and parents. Through teachers’/ parents’ training, they will be empowered to understand each child clearly. These help the teachers and parents in supporting the child's learning and mental well-being effectively, hence enhancing overall development of the child.
